Barry-Wehmiller's manufacturing facility is located in Phillips, Wisconsin. Acquired in 2000, Marquip added sophisticated equipment technology to Barry-Wehmiller's extensive manufacturing ability, strengthening its position in the global marketplace and enhancing its single-source capabilities in the fragmented packaging industry.
The manufacturing of Washers and Pasteurizers were transferred to Phillips to utilize the state of the art technology available. This increased the economic manufacturing scale to four or five different product lines sharing one manufacturing facility that enable us to build machinery at more competitive prices.
Currently, we offer Bottle Washers with three different types of drive systems: chain driven, cardanic system, and our electronic syncro-driven system, the most advanced transmission system in the market using gear motors controlled by Variable Frequency Drives.
Our Pasteurizers are manufactured with mat top (plastic belt) conveying systems or stainless steel belts that are driven with gear motors, or our traditional walking-beam machine using a Hydraulic System to transport the containers from the infeed to the machine discharge.
This facility also has a Tech Center enabling us to build boards and PLC cards for special applications.
Approximately 20 people have been relocated to the Marquip facility, transferring the "know-how" to existing personnel on the floor to facilitate the transition, making sure that every Barry-Wehmiller machine built maintains or improves the quality and standards of the industry.
Currently, we have 560 employees in Phillips, WI, and 245 in our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO.
